LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- Staff, students and administrators were aflutter yesterday regarding a visit by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine to Lakewood High School. 'At the end of last week, we received a call from the governor's office saying that he wanted to do a press conference about the fourth round of safety grants,' Lakewood City Schools Superintendent Maggie Niedzwiecki said. 'We were really pleased to have him choose us to be his outlet.' Considering Lakewood City Schools applied for $1.1 million in Ohio School Safety Grant funds, Niedzwiecki said the idea of DeWine choosing Lakewood High School for the press conference boded well for the district.
