LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- Two years after Madison Park was the site of criminal activity, including shootings, Lakewood police is earmarking recently awarded funding to boost safety at the popular park. Lakewood Police Chief Kevin Kaucheck said the $217,752 Office of Criminal Justice Services grant will be used to reduce violent crime in Lakewood through the purchase of additional license plate readers and surveillance cameras. The funds will also help defray the costs associated with Madison Park assigned officer overtime.
